A bit of background

Having spent almost three decades working for leading advertising agencies in London, Manchester and Newcastle I have a vast amount of writing experience that has been gained in all kinds of different media (brand new, reasonably old, completely ancient and everything in between). It has also been gained in all kinds of different business sectors - from fmcg, tourism and leisure to b2b, public sector and financial.

As a result I know how to write effective, enticing and entertaining copy in a tone of voice that is spot on for any brand or product. I can get my head around a brief really, really quickly, I can produce copy and concepts to the tightest of deadlines and I can even doodle my own layouts if you need me to. I also know how and where to use punctuation correctly. (It's a dying art, believe me.)

Today I work as a freelance writer based in the North East of England, but thanks to the lovely old internet I can be of service to you wherever you are on planet Earth.

I was a Board Director at BJL for 11 years and had the privilege of being a D&AD Juror in 2010. I have been Chairman of the Manchester Creative Circle and Deputy Chairman of the IPA Regional Council. Gathering dust in the loft somewhere are the umpteen awards which I have, over the years, been lucky enough to pick up for my work.
